LITURGICAL COMMITTEE

The Liturgical committee, with the input of the pastor, discusses and decides the proper expressions of the liturgy, for example, the decorations, music, ceremonies, literature, etc. which enhances the sacredness and spirituality of our public worship. This includes the music ministry, altar servers, lectors, those responsible for the upkeep of the altar linens, for example, the purificators, corporals, finger tip towels, etc., internal decoration and the role of the sacristan.
Ministers of Communion are those who have special love of Christ in the Eucharist. They participate in the mass by giving Communion to the faithful, and by bringing it to the homebound.
Lectors are those who proclaim the Word of God during the celebration of the mass.
Altar servers are those called to serve during the mass. They help set the pace and help to guide the congregation in the responses and actions during the mass. They help to bring a spirit of holiness and reverence to the celebration. Age is not a restriction once they have celebrated 1st Communion, even seniors are welcome.
The committee is always ready to include and welcome anyone who would like to help plan or implement our liturgical services.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

In the reorganization of the parish council, a finance committee was established in 2000 and divided into three sub-committees—Parish Finances, Safety and Maintenance, and Building Project.
The Parish Finance committee aids in producing the quarterly and annual parish financial reports.
The Safety and Maintenance committee oversees the care of the parish buildings.
The Building Project committee was formed when the diocese approved the building of a new church. Tom Riley was chosen as the representative and spokesperson to the Parish Council. Tom retired from the Finance Committee in 2011.
The parish finance council is mandated by Canon Law as an advisory body to the pastor. It normally meets at least four times a year and assists in setting and maintaining the budget, monitoring financial reports and presenting them to the community at least yearly, implementing financial controls, liaison with the Parish Council, implementing effective internal parish controls (bank accounts, cash/payroll, correspondence, etc.) and making business decisions.
The Building and Safety Committee is now a combined committee.

SOCIAL CONCERNS

The Social Concerns committee endeavors to increase the awareness and support for local and global concerns. It includes Pro-Life issues, home visitations, elderly concerns and family support. Projects of this committee include the annual Christmas Giving Tree, food drives, Martha’s Ministry, blood drives, and the annual “baby shower,” which helps support two facilities who work with young families in need.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

The Social committee promotes the social aspect of the church community. It seeks to gather people together in informal settings so that they can meet other parishioners and mingle with the community. The yearly St. Patrick’s celebration helps fund the annual Parish Picnic. Coffee and pastries are also offered after some Sunday Masses. Watch the parish bulletin for when it is offered. Volunteers have signed up to help supply and assist with the events, such as the Cookie Walk and the Parish Christmas Fair. The Craft Fair offers others to display their talents to the community. Meetings are open to everyone and are held regularly.

VOCATION COMMITTEE

The Vocation committee strives to promote holiness in all vocations — single, married, ordained and religious. It especially strives to promote vocations to the priesthood.
We meet occasionally and correspond by e-mail. We promote prayer and awareness through our vocations table and bulletin board, the vocations chalice and cross, and our community prayer for vocations following masses. Let us continue to pray intensely for many holy priests by adding one daily prayer to our regular routine.
